Ferrari 212 Inter Ghia and Mercedes C111
The Ferrari 212 Inter Ghia and Mercedes are both very rare and something you won’t see at every car event, for me this was the first time to see a Mercedes C111 outside. Personally I would prefer the Ferrari which is a very attractive and unusual Ferrari.
Ferrari 212 Inter Ghia
The 212 Inter was released in 1951 at the European motor show in Brussels. The car replaced the previous models 165, 166 and 195. Ferrari built a total of 82 212 Inter models which was quite a lot for that time. The Inter had a Ferrari Colombo V12 engine which put out 150hp with the single Weber carburetor. The Export version of the car had a triple Weber carburetor which increased the output of power to 165hp. This car had a top speed of 187 km/h and an acceleration time (0-100 km/h) of 10,5 seconds.
This Mercedes C111 was an experimental car by Mercedes in the time the company was experiencing with different engine technologies. This particular car has an Wankel egine and gull-wing doors. The first version of the C111 was completed in 1969. The car had an fiberglass body with a mid mounted Wankel engine.
